SEAAWAY AWARDED FROST & SULLIVAN 2007 NORTH AMERICAN INNOVATIVE PORT SECURITY COMPANY OF THE YEAR AWARD

Mr. Stephan V. Kroecker, Chairman and Mrs. Bernadette E. Kroecker, CEO of SeaAway Family of Companies, attended the 2008 Excellence in Industrial Technologies Awards Banquet hosted by Frost & Sullivan on Tuesday April 15, 2008 in San Antonio Texas. SeaAway was among 57 recipients of the 2008 Excellence In Industrial Technologies Awards.

Frost & Sullivan does not accept nominations or submissions for their awards. The selection of the award comes through in-depth interviews and primary market analysis conducted by their industry analyst team. The award for Company of the Year is presented each year to a company that has demonstrated unparalleled excellence within its industry. The award is based on numerous factors including the company's business development, competitive strategy, customer satisfaction, and leadership within a particular Frost & Sullivan Industry Research Group. SeaAway is perceived to exhibit outstanding management and consistent growth.

One of the most pressing homeland security concerns of 2007 has been enhancing the security of our maritime ports and global trade. The issue is not only one of the most important, within homeland security; it also is one of the most complex. Port security involves stakeholders with vastly different concepts of what it means to be secure.

In steps SeaAway, has a solution that will help solve both the political, economic, and security issues that now plague our ports. The small Florida based company has designed what it calls a "Prior-to-Port" solution that uses the latest in wireless technology, along with advanced radar, sonar and unmanned systems to provide a security net up to 15 nautical miles offshore that does not slow the natural flow of container shipping. While more dominant market participants are developing x-ray systems, radiation detection portals, and other security solutions - all of which require the container to be offloaded or be within very close proximity to a port's infrastructure, which both slows trade and at best minimally lowers risk - only SeaAway has a solution that can effectively mitigate a potential disaster while maintaining the supply chain's natural flow.

SeaAway's prior-to-port concept is embodied by the Sea Sentinel System. The foundations of the system are the Sea Sentinel platforms, which are located up to 15 nautical miles off shore. The platforms are fully manned stations capable of receiving radio signals from ships, container security devices, and RFID tags. Having this capability allows for any anomalies in a ship's history, manifest or cargo to be analyzed well before the ship poses a threat to large populations or critical infrastructure. The Sea Sentinel acts as a gateway and allows ships to pass through seamlessly between two platforms, maintaining the flow of trade.

As well as providing an excellent security solution for international trade SeaAway's Sea Sentinel system has many economic benefits that further enhance its value proposition. Rather than disrupting trade, Sea Sentinel will streamline the supply chain. All the data received can be used commercially. Data regarding a ship's identification and manifest can be used by shippers to track whereabouts allowing for more control of their supply chain. Sonar images of a ships hull can be used to identify discrepancies in the hull that may be hurting fuel efficiency and acoustic signatures can be used to determine maintenance requirements.

The marketability of this solution extends well beyond the shippers and the government and includes insurance agencies, manufacturers and retailers. The commercial benefits of SeaAway's Sea Sentinel solution increase the value of the concept far beyond security. Although Sea Away has no direct "product" competition, the company is competing for the hearts, minds and dollars of government and commercial entities currently involved with port security. Having both a strong security and commercial value proposition will entice members on both sides of the port security debate - the only real answer to securing our ports.
